The Idaho Contraceptive Education Network (ICEN) serves as a platform for dedicated Idahoans who are passionate about safeguarding access to birth control in our state. Working collectively, we engage in the crucial task of sharing stories and educating Idahoans in the critical role and function of contraceptives.

Contraceptives are a diverse range of medical methods and/ or devices employed to support family planning by preventing unintended pregnancies as well as treat certain medical issues unrelated to pregnancy including Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (POCS), acne and endometriosis. Contraceptives can be used to delay or space pregnancies, reduce the risk of sexually transmitted infections, and enable people to make informed decisions about when and if to become parents. They come in various forms, such as birth control pills, condoms, intrauterine devices (IUDs), implants, and barrier methods— each offering different levels of effectiveness and ease of use.
